There are many ways one can volunteer at the MACC. "Why volunteer?" you may ask? The reasons are many. Maybe you need to fulfill a school requirement to volunteer in the community. But, there are better reasons! How do we make a difference in the world? How do we make it a better, more civilized place? We start in our own neighborhoods and communities. Yes, right here, supporting our schools and the arts. The arts enrich our lives even in difficult economic times... maybe even MORE in difficult times! Painting, music, dance, theater, visual arts, all of them are expressions of who we are as a people, a community!
In this time of change and restoration, we have a need for even more volunteers. Below are opportunities - yes, a chance to show yourself and others that you REALLY care, not just talk about it. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY TO CLEAN THE MACC AND GET IT BACK TO WORKING ORDER!
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Our volunteers will need guidance and coordination. Phone calls to get the Teams going, and a meeting to talk about various projects. You would not necessarily be involved with each project, just coordinating the volunteers to get it done. Good follow up is necessary.
VIDEOGRAPHER
At this historic time, we need to document all the changes that are going to happen at the MACC and on the grounds. We desparately need the "before" shots taken, before any more disturbance to the building. Still shots are good, but we will also need a digital video taken of every square foot! Video editing experience will help with this - either iMovie or other video editing software.
DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Our Friends of MACC will need others to assist on some pretty big fundraisers. If you could be called upon to help make some phone contacts, or assist in mailings, let us know!
COMMUNICATIONS
We need a media secretary. More and more, the media wants to publish ads, articles, and even feature stories. Someone with a flair for taking pictures to have on hand to send the media, or to write feature articles for press releases would be so helpful. We will be putting together several catalogs and promo pieces for our fund development activities also.
WEBMASTER
As you can see, this website is pretty amateur! Someone out there, with experience and creativity, could make this look so much better! Come and help us look great, functional and interactive! And, have fun!

Mostly the rewards are instrinsic, but intense. Have you ever felt empowerd by success? That's what it feels like to accomplish something that's bigger than you are. Something that will not only last, but affect a huge part of your community. If you haven't ever felt that, it's time. Come and be a part of the MACC! I dare you!
